The day my Laptop broke

Back in January 09 - I broke my Laptop, like a STUPID IDIOT!!
I have been out of the loop for 3 months, BUT NOW I AM BACK!!

Here's my story and I am sticking to it.
My oldest daughter was using the Internet on my Laptop and listening to some music with her ear buds in her ears, my youngest daughter was trying to move her mattress into the living room for the sleepover that she was going to have with her cousins when they came over, I was in the kitchen cooking some very hot deep fried chicken and my husband was at work.

My youngest got herself caught in between the mattress and the bedroom door, I tried to get my oldest daughter's attention, but I had forgotten that she had the ear buds in her ears with the music up kind of high. I had a very hot plate in my hand almost droppimg and breaking the plate, well stupid me, didn't put the plate down to help my youngest get UN-stuck, but I instead seen a small piece of candy cane left over from the holiday's, I picked it up and threw it at my oldest - hoping to hit her in her head to get her attention, well yes sir!! I did get her attention, the candy cane flew past her head and HIT MY LAPTOP SCREEN INSTEAD!!! The plasma on that thing spread so fast across it, that it looked like a frozen lake thawing out for springtime.
Oh, did that make me sick to my stomach! I felt like I was going to physically throw up. Boy did she turn her head with the "O" expression on her face and my youngest stop screaming for help. I felt like I was going to get into trouble when my husband came home from work.

All the old memories of my young childhood came rushing back. All I seen was my mom coming home from my Aunt Elma's house and I had broke a dish while I was doing my chores. I had to hurry and hide the broken pieces or it was gonna be my ass for the night.

So instead of hiding my Laptop I called my husband right away on his cell phone, but he didn't answer. When Scott came home from work, I stopped him right on the porch and told him that before he would be able to step foot in the house, I had something very important to tell him. I didn't want him to try and blame the kids before he knew the whole story. Before he came into the house I had explained to him exactly what had happened, and I was right he would have blamed my girls, but I nipped that in the bud. So 3 months later, I have a new Computer and I am back online again.

But no-one will ever let me live it down. Yes, I am reminded everyday what I did to the Laptop and how much it COST to replace it.
